Wonderful for a half day or so walking, visiting shops, and stopping for delicious sweet treats and local dining. The narrow streets are perfect for an intimate view of local color. Walk to the edge of town and you'll see many more local people doing their shopping and daily strolls Architecture is interesting, different from Greek islands such as Santorini or Mykonos; this area has a very old, solid, staid feel about it, as if the same families have lived there forever - and in fact many families trace their ancestors quite far back. A visit to Corfu Town is a calming experience, for reflecting on days gone by as well as seeing the vibrancy of this island's culture.
