A hotel on the road less traveled
Have a good restaurant on premises which is good because there are few to no places elsewhere to eat . Breakfast was adequate . Bike storage in a “carport” but the area is not highly traveled .
With all the great aspects of this hotel the reception was quite bad . The women who sat behind the desk when I first walked in from my bicycle had her head down looking at a computer screen and kept it down for at least 5 minutes while I stood in front of her waiting to be acknowledged and greeted . I never was greeted but I finally did get our room and the key for our room . To compound the insult - this same young lady was there for our checkout and this time she was reading something and again did not raise her head to greet me or ask if our stay had been good . In all our travels and stays in hundreds of B&B’s , hotels , guest-houses I don’t believe that this has ever happened. This person should be let go immediately - I will never visit this hotel again no matter how much I liked our room.

German Fawlty Towers
The restaurant had a pleasant atmosphere but the service was non existent, I waited for 1 1/2 hours for a beer to be served and when the food was served, everyone in our group got parts of their meal i.e. no salad or no noodles and one poor chap did not have his meal served until the rest of the group had eaten!
It was a shame that the hotel could not cope and the poor waiting service had to try to do the best they could in the situation. I could understand if the restaurant was busy but it was Friday night and the restaurant was not even half full.

Wonderful Country Hotel - Inn
You can dine and indulge in the food and drinks. Very nice staff make this inn very special.

Nice cakes, bad service
Coffee and cake was served after a very long wait by an unsmiling young woman.
The wind caused a heavy parasol to fall on our table, just missing my head. The waitress who came to pick it up spoke not a word. I said (in polite German) that she could at least apologize. Her angry reaction: why should I apologize, is it not my parasol. I said that as she worked here of course it was her parasol, but got no more reaction. Her male companion remained stony faced. Clearly the staff here need to learn here about normal politeness and kindness but also about what it means to work in a sector that provides a service. When you deal with the public you represent the restaurant, and yes, it really is your parasol.
This was a sad exception in our holiday, as service in Germany is nearly always kind, polite and efficient.
Oh by the way, the cheesecake was great, but the apricotcake was tasteless, I think the cook forgot to put salt in.
