Wonderful Weinklause
Excellent, welcoming and charming family-run hotel with the highest standards and a perfect location close to everything. Simply wonderful.
I worked at the Weinklause for a season 34 years ago and returned for the first time with my family for a trip down memory lane. My former bosses, Herr Nobis and Silvia, are still at the heart of the hotel, now joined by Silvia’s daughter — three generations running the Weinklause with the same dedication and high standards I remember.
I loved working here all those years ago, and after observing and speaking with the current team, it’s clear that the Weinklause remains an excellent place to work. Every staff member greets you with a smile and genuinely makes every effort to be helpful.
The buildings have been tastefully modernised while retaining their original character. My room was spotless, with a contemporary bathroom and breath-taking views from the south facing balcony. Breakfast was plentiful and delicious, with lovely Weinklause touches such as the home made herbal tea and Herr Nobis — “Der Eiermann” — arriving at the table with a pan of freshly fried eggs.
A personal highlight was seeing Herr Nobis fit and healthy, and we enjoyed a fascinating conversation with him at the bar one evening. He really should write a book.
Thank you to the entire Weinklause team and the Nobis family for their hard work and for making us feel so welcome. We will definitely be back.

Nice, family hotel in a prime location.
We go to Oberstdorf once or twice a year and have already stayed in various hotels. We chose the Hotel Weinklause this time because of its close proximity to the center, but were also otherwise positively surprised.
The location to the center but also for tours in the mountains is unbeatable, positive are also the two wall boxes for charging the electric car.
The service was very friendly from the first email contact to check-in and check-out. The room we had on the first floor was adequate for the three nights, modern equipped and clean. For longer stays we would choose a larger room category in the future, but the price-performance ratio was completely suitable for us. The breakfast room is modern and brightly designed, the breakfast offer leaves nothing to be desired, as does the service and the friendly nature of the chef.
Unfortunately, the restaurant was not open yet. so we cannot leave a review on this.
Conclusion: we felt very comfortable and perfectly recovered over the extended weekend, we like to stay at the Hotel Weinklause again during one of the next stays in Oberstdorf.

Negative, not recommended.
Unfortunately, I have to agree with the negative reviews.
It began quite gently with an awkward and rugged action by the receptionist. As a result, I asked that I simply leave the next day, but that would hurt the hotel, according to Mrs. Manager.
So I should either throw 1000 euros out the window or I should just stay here like Mrs. Manager Nobis.
I stayed at the hotel.
It went on that I was accused of damaging the sauna, I was denied breakfast, and I wanted to be sued and kicked out.
There was no legal basis for all these threatened acts.
I didn't get a waiver and left today. The mountains have given me rest. The owners' family did not.
Another single woman was also treated carelessly and inappropriately. Other guests shared my view. So my devise lonely women don't seem to enjoy a place in the wine cloak.

nachdem ich mich nun ausführlich bei all unseren Mitarbeiter und Mitarbeiterinnen informiert habe, um die ganze Situation zu verstehen, wende ich mich nun auch öffentlich an Sie zurück. Wir sind bestürzt über diese Bewertung, denn hier stecken Falschaussagen und Unwahrheiten drin, die wir so nicht annehmen können. Wir haben uns deshalb entschieden, hier rechtlich dagegen vorzugehen. Wir haben Ihre Bewertungen auf allen Portalen auch gemeldet. Bis diese jedoch bearbeitet werden, antworten wir auch öffentlich, denn damit entsteht auch bei uns ein Schaden, den wir nicht einfach so hinnehmen.
Wir schildern hiermit nun unsere Sichtweise und hoffen sehr, dass dies auch gelesen wird. Sie sind bei uns im Hotel angereist, Sie haben eingecheckt und wir haben Ihnen das Zimmer gezeigt. Sie hatten ursprünglich ein Doppelzimmer für 2 Personen über Booking.com gebucht, sind jedoch allein angereist. Dennoch haben Sie dann natürlich das Doppelzimmer erhalten. Sie kamen dann direkt wieder an die Rezeption, weil Sie nicht zufrieden mit dem Zimmer waren. Sie wollten abreisen, woraufhin wir gesagt hatten, dass die Buchung dennoch vorhanden ist und eine kostenfreie Abreise leider nicht möglich ist. Eine Abreise hat Ihnen nie jemand verwehrt. Wir hatten lediglich gesagt, dass dies nicht kostenfrei möglich ist. Zudem haben wir Ihnen dann direkt einige andere Zimmer gezeigt, denn ein Umzug in ein anderes Zimmer ist bei uns, insoweit Zimmer verfügbar sind bzw. die anderen Gäste noch nicht angereist, immer möglich. Wir haben Ihnen insgesamt 5 Zimmer gezeigt. Sie haben sich dann entschieden, zu bleiben. Sie haben ein schönes Einzelzimmer mit Südbalkon ausgewählt und hatten traumhaftes Wetter. Einem erholsamen Urlaub stand nichts mehr im Wege.
Danach ist laut unserem Wissens nichts mehr passiert oder vorgefallen. Sie waren jeden Tag beim Frühstück, dies ist bei uns dokumentiert. Dass Ihnen das Frühstück verwehrt wurde, ist eine reine Falschaussage. Von einer Beschädigung von unserem Wellnessbereich weiß auch niemand etwas. Hier ist nie was vorgefallen, weshalb wir hier nicht mal wissen, wovon Sie sprechen. Auch das ist eine reine Lüge.
Wir sind wirklich bestürzt über Ihre Worte. Viele Bewertungen zeigen, dass gerade Alleinreisende eine wundervolle Zeit bei uns genießen. Wir sind bekannt für unsere Gastfreundschaft und Herzlichkeit. Bei uns genießen alle Menschen einen hohen Stellenwert und wir sind froh darüber, dass viele weitere Gäste das so erkennen und so auch in Ihren Bewertungen wiedergeben.
