Nice ambience in the green and super friendly staff

Personal contact is still important here.
The owner has taken time for me, which even on the phone and me explains everything in detail. I was really baffled - that rarely exists!
This beautiful hotel is really an absolute insider tip

The pension I can recommend without restriction.

We had booked a comfort room. The room was practical, functionally furnished. According to the season we had warm bedding, feather pillows and a very comfortable mattress. Television and a small table with two comfortable chairs belonged to the decor. In the private bathroom we had plenty of towels and even a hairdryer available.
The guesthouse offers a rich breakfast and if something is not there, the staff will take care of it being available. That's great.
The staff at the reception and in the service are friendly and accommodating. Just great.

Insider tip, gladly again

We arrived unannounced with 13 people and were warmly welcomed for two nights. The rooms are big enough for a longer stay. Very tastefully furnished, clean bathrooms and good mattresses. The rooms and the breakfast room were decorated for Christmas. The breakfast was fully worth the price.
Fresh rolls from the bakery, several types of bread, various types of sausage and cheese, fresh fruit salad and fresh fruit. Coffee and tea to choose from.

nice hotel, friendly helpful service

We stoped by here at a hiking trip. Nice place, clean room, our dog welcome, good breakfast. and a very friendly and supportive service. good place to stay if you look for a simple but good place for a night. schierke as a town is very nice as well for a short visit

Disappointed - Never again.

SImply not good enough.
1. When other reviews are excited about breakfast and give it 3 or 4 stars, you kinda expect more than hard-boiled eggs. In Germany 1 star is 1 type of warm dish for breakfast. 2 stars = 2 warm dishes etc etc. So we expected at least scrambled eggs.
On top of that coffee was un-drinkable, and we've had our shares of "dififferent" coffee in many countries. Tasted like over-brewed to get some flavour from last weeks coffee-beans.
2. In Germany there is a strict "Nacht-Ruhe" - meaning NO NOISE after 22:00. However on 2 of our 3 nights we were awoken by other guests chatting and laughing. Hostess could do nothing about it perhaps because its a Pension and not a Hotel ??
Anyway; you pay a hotel to be able to sleep comfortably at night. And we couldnt. So obvisouly Pension Schmidt is attracting the wrong clientel and the wrong management. Nachtruhe in Germany is enforced all other places.
Finally the building is exceptionally NOT sound-proof. Be prepared to share all with neighboring rooms, also those below and above.
