Absolutely love this hotel. Traveled with toddlers and the pool/hot tub + playground is AMAZING! We will be back. Guaranteed.

Terrible event experience.
I am not normally someone to leave a negative review. However, this was by far the worst communication and customer service so have ever experienced. Around October of last year I reached out to Ruby River about holding my rehearsal dinner and welcome party in their event spaces. (July 2026). I was told no problem, our date was open and we would have access to the entirety of the event space for 5 hours. We paid our deposit. Then, heard nothing. I requested a receipt for the deposit and then I was sent an email about planning a time to talk about what kind of event I wanted. But, I had already had that meeting, made the plans, and paid the deposit. I explained this (to the same person I originally met with btw) and they realized our event was already booked. I asked for a receipt and still was never sent one. Approximately 3-4 months before the event I reached out via phone and email to finalize the menu, and talk about final headcount and to ensure the event went the way we had discussed. I received no contact back. Then, May 13, I emailed and called again. I was notified by the sales manager at that time that the event planner at the hotel was no longer working there. On May 20 I met with the sales manager, Eric. We met in the event space, discussed set up, timeline, menus, due dates, headcount. Etc. he informed me that “he would not have booked our event in all honesty” and that they had booked an event near the same time as ours. Our rehearsal dinner was supposed to start at 5 pm-7pm (30 pole for dinner) then welcome event from 7 pm-9:30 for the rest of guests (just bar no food). He told me they could no longer do that and we would need to push our time back to 6 pm, and that dinner would be served at 6 pm instead of 5. So, I agreed. We pushed the rehearsal dinner to 6, and the welcome party back to 7:30.
On June 16, my mother in law (her name and number were on credit card form for deposit) received a call from Andrew who just started working there. He asked to start planning our event. She informed him that I was point of contact and had already planned it. He then contacted me some asking about the details of the event. I explained I had met with Eric, who took notes and had all the info for our event. He didn’t realize this. He thought we were starting from scratch. So for the third time, I discussed the plans of the event. He was surprised about the timing, and was confused about what our event was. I explained the timeline numerous times, the menu, asked questions and emailed over info as well. He assured me that things would go according to plan. A few weeks before the wedding we spoke over the phone and finalized the menu. I asked for a coupled substitutes on sides, he assured me this would be no problem. I checked that dinner would be served at 6, he said yes.
I called the day before the event and spoke with Andrew again and confirmed everything. I was once again assured.
On the day of the rehearsal dinner we arrived shortly before 6 pm and the tables were not set up. The bar was not open (we paid to have two bars at the event) and the staff was scrambling and did not know the number of guests for the dinner, did not know we requested lawn games, the wall dividing the room was still up, and being taken down, and no food was in sight. We were not able to be served dinner (buffet) until 6:45 pm. The food was also incorrect. The sides were requested were incorrect as well. The video our parents put together which we were told could be played was not able to be played. We had barely enough time to eat, and the people for the welcome party started arriving at 7:30. Our speeches that were planned were also impacted because of this. The second bar was set up late. I wish I would have revived more transparency about the timeline instead of being told they could accommodate our event despite being double booked. I would have canceled and booked somewhere else. What was supposed to be an intimate and special night ended up being stressful, disappointing. And full of scrambling by the bride, groom, and family. We had to request more food because there was not enough sides, and items were missing. I will never book an event here again. The staff that was present at the event is in no way responsible for they apologized and were so upset that they were not given adequate info. The bar tenders and other staff hustled to try to get things done and set up the tables, chairs, games, music, etc and to bring food in as fast as they could. This was poor communication from management and the planning/coordination team. We should have been more aware of the circumstances and given the ability to cancel. We paid for 5 hours, and we received more like 3.5. We were only refunded a small portion of the cost.

Hotel staff was very friendly. Beds were super comfortable although you could hear some hallway noise. It was very close to several fast food/coffee places.

Poor safety protocol and no reply from the hotel management
I want to warn people about a really upsetting experience my friend and I had a couple weeks ago as guests at Ruby River Hotel. We are two grandmothers traveling together, and after midnight we were just in our room talking and laughing. Out of nowhere, a man started loudly and aggressively pounding on our door. I looked through the peephole, but I couldn't see what he was wearing, and he appeared to be looking down at his phone. To be honest, it scared the crap out of us. As two women alone so late at night, we had no idea if this man was an employee or what he was doing at our door so late. He continued to knock loudly in bursts and yelled out "security!", and I realized he wouldn't leave unless we opened the door. I opened the door with the security latch still on, he was not friendly in the least. He aggressively told us we were too loud and needed to keep it down. If we were being too loud, someone should have called our room instead. There was no reason to send a person to our room. Sending an unidentified man to aggressively bang on our door and intimidate us in the middle of the night is totally unacceptable and made us feel completely unsafe. Was this even an employee of theirs? Is this how they handle noise issues?
What makes this situation even worse is the complete lack of professional accountability. I emailed both local property management and the corporate office twice regarding this and they have completely ignored my messages. They have not offered an apology, an acknowledgment, or a response or any kind. I highly recommend staying elsewhere if you value your peace of mind, personal security, and accountability.

The location is great. It is walkable to the river and downtown. There are lots of restaurants and shopping within walking distance.
The hotel is not freshly renovated but it is not in need of remodeling either. Our room had a bit of a funny smell but we opened the windows and that helped.
We were only there one night and did not use the pool or jacuzzi but they looked nice. The pool is quite large with lots of seating around it. We had a view of the river and the pool
