Weekend on the French Riviera

Just returned after 4 full days in blue caste. We had a great time in this hotel that absolutely does not deserve 2 stars but more. Cozy room on the 4th floor spacious, nice view. A few steps from the promenade, and just exit the avenue cross the street and there is the nice villas station. Which we took for the whole weekend stopping every day at a different stop arriving to Ventimiglia then making the change to Sanremo. It was so easy!. We will definitely return to complete the visit of other places along the French Riviera that we could not see in time. In addition, the hotel is located in front of a large shopping center, dining options at will and mc donald 100 meters. Excellent solution. Satisfying. Staff at reception very friendly. A'bientot!!

A good night’s sleep in a comfortable hotel

We had a great night’s sleep, the air condition was working well and it was quiet. We had a lovely view to the street. The bathroom and tge room were impeccably clean. The location was good, too. The hitel is right in the centre but the street is not noisy.

A good stop!

Well-located hotel. Clean. Pleasant and available reception. The breakfasts are good (bread, croissant...)
Quality/price very good. The only downside is the size of the room, which is really small.

Disappointing.

Just back after a 3 night stay in Hotel Trocadero.
Our room was dark, small and basic, overlooking an alleyway. The bed was hard and only 2 thin pillows supplied. It was very disappointing to see.
I asked for 2 extra pillows and was told they would ask Housekeeping. We received them and thankfully they were of much better quality than the originals.
The ensuite bathroom was small with some toiletries in paper packets. The shower unit was tiny.
Towels were changed every day.
The paintwork on doors was chipped and it just felt grubby.
On the second morning we asked could we have breakfast and the man on reception just answered no. I waited and he said we would have to let them know in advance if we wanted breakfast. So we just left and went to a cafe around the corner.
Location wise it was 5 minutes walk to the train station and close to the main shopping area. It's a 20 minute walk to the Old town.
Overall, we were very disappointed in our stay. There was nobody at the desk as we were checking out so we could not give any feedback. A young man on the desk previously had been very pleasant and helpful.
We enjoyed Nice, but if we are coming back it will not be to Hotel Trocadero.

Great value hotel

Hotel trocadero is in a great position minutes from tram stop and railway station, our room was at the front of the hotel so early mornings there was a little noise from a lorry unloading but not really an issue
Room was small but perfectly adequate nice clean ensuit with plentiful hot water, very good value for Nice
