Ideal location, wonderful food, helpful staff

We booked this hotel through CrystalSki as a group of six expecting two, triple bedded rooms but ended up with doubles in both rooms. The hotel location is right outside the bus stop which has a freee bus service to the main lifts of Linga and Pré la Joux chairlifts which is ideal when you have finished skiing for the day and don't want to trudge up and down the street back to your hotel. If you are hiring skis then I would recommend Chez Maurice which is no more than 75m up the road from the hotel. SLightly higher rental price but the service was excellant. If you use other rental companies then these are quite a walk from the hotel, back into the village.
There is a boot room in the basement of the hotel which is rather simple and not large enough for all the hotel guests, as there is only one heated boot rack to dry your boots on overnight. We found that other guests removed boots off of the dryers to hang their own.
The sauna was out of use all the time that we stayed there which wasa s shame, but there is a small gym with a minimum of equipement, if that is what you need?
Breakfast was the usual selection of cold meats and cheeses along with cereals, yoghurts and fruit juices. There are two coffee machines which dispense a reasonable cup of coffee in the morning.
Evening meals were the highlight of our stay - the food is fantastic and each evening we were treated to at least four courses. The mid-week fondu/raclette evening was however, our favourite! Regional wines are served at the table which were excellant and a special mention should be given to our waiter, Tristan who kept us entertained and well served all week.
WiFi was free and varied in signal strength throughout the hotel - nothing unusal about that, but pleased to say that it worked well.
The staff prefer to speak French, so make an effort with them, they did appreciate it!!!

Great location , fantastic food and staff

Went with a group of friends for our annual ski trip and booked this via Crystal Ski .
The hotel is in a great location on the bus run to Linga and pre la joux ski lifts , these buses run every 10 mins and were excellent for getting about , there is a ski hire shop around 100m from the hotel alos and they were fantastic .
The hotel itself is over 3 levels not including the basement ski locker area , theres a small gym and Sauna , neither of these did we use .
The rooms are as normal for Ski holidays , small but more than adequate , I found the WIFI fine but my friends had small isuues with it dropping on and off.
The food , especially the evening meals were superb , really good considering how much we paid , the breakfasts were as you usually find in ski resorts and im not a big breakfast eater , also there were 2 coffee machines always on the go .
Special mention to our waiter Tristan , an absolute star .
Overall a really decent hotel with super friendly staff and great food , oh and the bar was great as well .

A great stay

What a lovely hotel!
Beautiful dining room, bar and snug area. Comfortable bed, and a very handy boot room.
The food was the best hotel food we’ve ever had. 4 course dinner every night. Particularly enjoyed the French onion soup, tartiflette and the fondue night.
Breakfast was also nice too. They even put on a little takeaway breakfast for us before our 6am transfer back to the airport which was a great touch.
Bus stop right outside, which takes you to Super Chatel, Linga or Pre La Joux.
Hotel is conveniently placed in the centre of town so easy walking distance to some lovely shops, bars and cafes.
Some of the staff could have been a little more friendly. On arrival, a member of staff walked straight past us without a welcome and there was no one at reception to help us.
Overall we had a great stay and would definitely want to stay here again and will be recommending it to all our friends and family.
Thank you!

Nice modest hotel

This is a dated ‘pine everywhere’ hotel but it has a good location and lovely views. It does need a bit of updating for example our shower wasn’t fixed to the wall and had to be held. There was no hairdryer. However it has a carpark, is right by the bus stop, opposite the ski shop and is a 5 min walk from all the cafes and restaurants in Chapel.
If you want plush it’s not for you but if you want a cosy simple place to stay it’s a great choice.

Great place to stay

Well positioned hotel in the town to access all amenities. Ski hire shop across the road about 50 yards from hotel and bus stops right outside for either direction.
Rooms are good for ski accommodation and the evening meal is 4 courses although limited choice if you are a veggie.
My only gripe is that the most icy dangerous place to walk in the whole of Chatel is the driveway of the hotel so from boot room to road is tricky. I will be enquiring if they have any salt today as am happy to spread it myself.
