Home from Home in Windhoek

UrbanCamp Windhoek is the prefect place to stop & stock-up in the middle of a Namibian 4x4 trip. We stayed in the Urban
Camp campsite. The staff could not have been more efficient, helpful or friendly. The camp was spotless - our bin was cleaned at least 2x a day. The ablutions were spotless and the water was always HOT! The restaurant was great, and you could take a short walk to a shopping centre with a good supermarket etc. and a car wash. Will never stay anywhere else in Windhoek!

Urban Camp Windhoek

Wow, I couldn't believe this campsite was in the middle of a large city. We were warmly greeted at reception and then drove our off-road caravan to a lovely spot in the campsite. Each campsite has an A-frame area adjoined to it with a huge table and benches - and a hammock. The ablution facilities were spotless, as was the campsite. There is a wonderful bar area and restaurant where we had a delicious meal. The staff is warm and welcoming. The campsite has unique pictures and images which are quite quirky but delightful. We had an amazing stay at this beautiful campsite. There are also tents for those who want to experience glamping. On the morning of our departure, the restaurant was filled with travellers having breakfast in the warm dining/reception area. I didn't want to leave. This campsite is a real gem.

A good choice for campers in Windhoek

Very good place at a reasonable price for those who come camping with their Toyota Hilux. It's quiet. The welcome is friendly and very professional. No security issues. The sites are well laid out, well maintained and. Cleanliness is on point. As for the small negatives, it is a bit far from the center but you can get there by Yango for cheap if needed. Some sites are also quite clustered and the path that winds through the campsite is not very wide at times, so it can be quite tricky to park your 4x4. But overall, I was satisfied with my stay there and I recommend the urban camp. For campers, it's a must in Windhoek that deserves its reputation.

Great for one night

A great last overnight before heading home. Staff very friendly and nice vibe. Menu is average, we missed something simple like chicken/steak with salade or veg (not deep fried or in batter) Lighting very dim in tents and electricity unstable (but it is Namibia). Wonderful to have an electric blanket. Very heavy traffic noises and in the morning lots of fumes from vehicles packing up and leaving. Not pleasant at all, but I suppose it can’t be helped.
