Concert weekend

We were here for a weekend to attend a concert.
Accessibility by train and subway is good.
The reception was very friendly and the room was very good.

When a hotel Steigenberger is indistinguishable from any mass corporate chain hotel of 4 stars and everything is ok but soulless then it is me who made a mistake by thinking it is better than that

It was a nice hotel, but noisy.

It was a nice, good hotel in the city with a lovely view of Cologne Cathedral. The room was fine, as was the bathroom—except for the showerhead; whenever you adjusted it upwards, it would slide down because it was actually too heavy for the mounting bar. There was also a lot of noise from people talking and sirens outside, which was clearly audible. The staff were very friendly, though. All in all, it is a good hotel for an overnight stay.

Favorite hotel with a fly in the ointment

I am in Cologne very often for work and prefer to stay at the Steigenberger. The location is perfect, I like the architecture, the rooms are well thought out, the staff is very accommodating. I would especially like to highlight the great new gym, which is really equipped with everything your heart desires: Cardio, kettlebells, dumbbells, machines, everything from Technogym and great. The rooms with connecting doors are difficult because they are not soundproof. And, the only real point of criticism for my purposes: the internet is really very, very bad, that is actually not acceptable and should definitely be improved. Reasonable work or even streaming: almost never possible.
