Hokkaido will begin levying an accommodation tax from April 1, 2026. Due to the introduction of the Hokkaido Accommodation Tax effective April 1, 2026 (Reiwa 8), we will collect a 3% accommodation tax as the combined “Town and Hokkaido Accommodation Tax,” which includes both the Kutchan Town Accommodation Tax and the Hokkaido Accommodation Tax.
