Nice and clean.

Super hostel. Great beds, good breakfast and clean. Staff is very helpful and nice! The living room could use some refurbishing. Reason for not giving 5 is the price. 45R$ is in the expensive end for Brazil.

Don't put yourself through such discomfort

I'll say what everyone can relate to. I had doubt coming there, and I should have listen myself. I booked 2 nights and left after one.
1st : the mattress was a nightmare. Couldn't sleep all night, and my back is still painful from it. Very very uncomfortable.
2nd : you can't open windows. Which makes it like a jail.
And smelly. Smelly from people, from clothes, and from the humidity of the region that never goes away. Even the girl from the reception told me it stinks and moved me from the first room because it was too dodgy.
3rd : it's not clean. I went in a room after asking to move, and sheets (supposed to be cleaned) were all over the bed, did not look tidy or clean at all.
4th : 2 bathrooms for about 15 people. You even line up to brush your teeth.
5th : no ambiance whatsoever. Literally no place to feel relax, it's dodgy, not cosy, not friendly. (Reception staff are nice though)
6th : they tell you breakfast is at 7.30, at 8am nothing to be seen.
Well, I lost my payment for the second night. Probably my fault I agree. But it's kind of funny the reception was ok to pay me back, but because the card payment refund did not work they changed their mind and made me pass for a pain in the ass asking her money back.
Keep my money. I'd rather lose 70 reais and have some cleanliness and comfort.
There are definitely better places in Belem for this price, and this one is not worth anybody's money

Friendly staff

Friendly and helpful staff and the hostel is well-located near the docks. Communal areas are nice and the kitchen well stocked. Areas for improvement would be that only 1 bathroom for all the upstairs dormitories and private rooms is far too few - it meant lots of waiting to use it. Secondly the breakfast was very basic and limited - definitely one of the weakest we've had in a month around Brazil. Overall a reasonable budget option (one of the cheapest we could find in Belem) but could be great with some improvements!

Hostel under construction is never nice

I have to be honest - the beds are super comfortable and all the place is super clean but during our time there were all day some construction work going on. For the prize they could offer a bit more service like laundry and more choice at breakfast although it was nice. The public places are just not really comfortable.... Nevertheless, the owners are very helpful but reliable is only one... from the other staff you easily get wrong information which really sucks....

Hello, Nicole,
Thank you very much for staying with us and for your review!
We are glad that the place was nice and the beds were comfortable.
Our price is comparable to the cost of living and running a hostel in this area, and we are right now attempting to keep the lowest price possible in spite of the current rennovations. We are truly sorry for the discomfort you experienced, but understand that we had to go through this small inconvenience for the benefit of the hostel. As a result, we now have more bathrooms, more comfortable and newly-decorated rooms.
We are investigating now who gave you bad information, so that we can continue to improve and provide accurate and helpful information to all of our guests.
Again, thank you for staying with us, and thank you for the feedback. Best of luck on the rest of your trip!

Helpfull staff!

The people at the hostel was very friendly and helpfull. I was quite scared of Belem the city so i asked them to drive me to a couple of places (paid of course) but it was still very nice of them to do it.
The breakfast was nice and the kitchen big, not that i cooked anything there but still.
The reason i didnt give it a 5 is they only have 2 bathrooms with shower and toilet and when you are quite many people you have to stand in que sometimes.
