Lovely hotel with good rooms and food, very friendly.
Group tour in the beautiful hotel. A large room with seating, balcony and nice spacious walk-in shower. Everything equally neat and neatly clean. The beds slept wonderfully and the breakfast was rich, fresh and tasty. Dinner for us was a 4 course dinner. Everything equally delicious very much, we could get half portions. Nothing too much for them. The service was very friendly, the drinks were extremely expensive. A cappuccino cost 5.50 euros. Furthermore, we are very satisfied with this family hotel in a beautiful setting. We will definitely be back.

Great hotel in the middle of Mellau
We stayed for 5 days on a ski holiday in Mellau and stayed at the Hotel Engel. The food is exceptionally good, the service excellent and the host family very very nice and attentive. We can definitely recommend the hotel.

A home from home
Been to Hotel Engel many times now mainly for skiing but also for a summer visit. We usually fly from Dublin to Memmingham and drive to Mellau. It is a comfortable, homely Hotel in the heart of the village. We always find the owners and staff to be very welcoming, friendly and helpful. The food is prepared to a very high standard by the owner/chef with a good selection of fish, game and vegetarian options on offer, sometimes we need assistance to interpret the German menu but friendly help is never far away.
Outside the door there is a regular bus service to and from the ski lift, (which is also just a short walk away) Across the road is a very helpful ski hire shop and nearby, our children's favourite, The SPAR Shop!

very comfortable good food very helpful management. I have no problem in recommending it I also think it offers good value great place few brit have heard of skiing convenience ski shop is just accross the road

Skiing in Mellau
We just got back from a very spontaneous ski trip in Mellau. We were trying to find a ski area which had snow and Mellau/Damüls was suggested to us as it is snow reliant. We found Hotel Engel in Mellau through Tripadvisor. Was a lovely hotel, with a big room and modern bathroom. We had a balcony overlooking the town. Also the hotel has a great A'la carte restaurant where we ate dinner, very big portions! Great place to stay, with everything you need for a ski holiday and so close to the new ski lift (2min drive) also there is a bus stop right outside the hotel taking you directly to the lift. Wonderful stay!
